There Is A New Diet Out Called The Ice Cream Diet

By James Steele

The Ice Cream Diet certainly has managed to stir up a lot of talk, lately. What is supposed to happen is you follow the diet recommendations, eat daily ice cream, and you will lose weight. In order to determine whether this diet is for real or not, we decided to review it and tell you the benefits and disadvantages it has.

The Ice Cream Diet is not low in saturated fats. You can eat cheese, meat and fish while on the Ice Cream Diet. Some "bad" fats have been found to actually be good for you if taken in moderation. Of course, you don't want to overdo it with any kind of fat, but the Ice Cream Diet is a rather low calorie diet, and if you follow its recommendations you won't be getting a very large amount of saturated (or any other kind) of fat. While the ice cream diet is not conventional, it may actually be healthier than any other you have tried.

Another side benefit of the Ice Cream Diet is that you'll be getting more calcium which is important for everyone, of course, but moreso for women. There is evidence that calcium not only supports bone health, but makes it easier to lose weight.

A person can become calcium deficient if they eat very little and also don't consume any dairy products. What is also covered in the Ice Cream Diet book is why it's important to obtain calcium more from foods than from external supplements. So what you can accomplish with this diet is meaningful weight loss while ensuring your body receives enough calcium each day.

When you study and understand the Ice Cream Diet approach, it's clear that the ice cream added to it is more for the catchy name than any other reason. This diet has fairly standardaily calorie targets that keep men under 2000 a day and women 1500 a day. Then you will combine that with exercise on a regular basis. Theoretically, if you wanted to you could eat your daily limit in ice cream, but who wants to do that? If you really do everything they recommend, then honestly it won't matter if you eat a little bit of ice cream, or chocolate cake each day, or candy bar, etc. So you can see that the ice cream in the Ice Cream Diet is purely for marketing reasons.

Will the Ice Cream Diet work? Sure it will, but you have to learn what it teaches and then adhere to what it has you do. But hey... no sneaking more of the cold, good stuff than you should - if you do, you know what will happen. The Ice Cream Diet can be an effective way to restrict the amount of calories you take in while still eating a food you enjoy, but only if you follow all of its suggestions.
